2008 Mural Festival
The first annual mural festival will be June 7-8, 2008 in Frederick, MD. This is the same weekend as the Frederick Festival of the Arts. The Festival of the Arts attracts an estimated 10000 visitors to the downtown arts and entertainment district. The Faux School is located at the center of the A&E district. The interior of the schools main gallery can hold 60 booths and an additional 50 in the private parking lot. If you get a outdoor space you will need to provide your own sun shade. When: June 7-8, 2007 Prizes: 1st place: $2000.00 2nd Place: $1000.00 3rd place: $500.00 The Judging: The winners will be chosen by the public. All visitors will pay a $5.00 admission fee, these funds will finance our new children's mural program and new scholarship fund. Upon entry each adult will receive a ballot. They will choose a first, second and third favorite and return the ballot when they leave. All votes will be counted (twice) by a three judge panel. Set Up: Friday June 1, 2007 6 - 9pm Clean up: Sunday June 3 5-8 pm All works must be origin ail Size, no limit on how small or large The organizers have the right to refuse the display of any mural that they feel is offensive.
