Diane Huyck Bio

Diane Huyck began her design career more than fifteen years ago designing sets for equity and community theater in Southern California.   She is a graduate from California Institute of the Arts, where she received her formal training in Set Design for Theatre and Film.  After graduating in 1995, she set out to work in Hollywood, California, in both Theatre and Film.  Diane learned many painting techniques and “tricks of the trade” during her days as a Scenic Painter.  She quickly progressed from Scenic Painter to Set Decorator and eventually onto Art Director/Production Designer for Televison and Film.  She now runs her own decorative painting and design business, DH Designs, where she specializes in color choices and custom finishes for residential and commercial interiors. 

Diane has always had a special passion for designing for children.  She has designed many children’s spaces, nurseries, playrooms and even a Maternity Store in Los Angeles, CA.

Her accomplishments include interior design, decorative painting, fine art, furniture painting, historic restoration, event planning/project management and designing period pieces for Theatre and Film.  Her work can be seen in restaurants, residential and commercial buildings throughout Los Angeles and the Metro DC area.
