Instructor: Diane Huyck

September 29, 2008

1 day                                    9am - 4pm

Class fee: 250.00                  Deposit: 125.00

With this class you will learn to understand color principles and how to apply them. This is a hands-on workshop that will show you how light affects color, how color affects one another, and how color affects a mood or tone of a room. You will create your own color wheel to take with you, giving you the knowledge and confidence to use color in any art form that you choose. You will explore the psychological aspects of color, learn the differences between warm and cool colors, complementary colors, tints, shades, and mix colors of your own. Color matching (creating a color to match an already existing one), color recipes, and glazing techniques will also be covered. We will discuss and practice creating neutral colors to create harmony, and complementary colors to create contrasting balance, which will enrich your environment. We will also paint grids, using colors and shades, using your knowledge of color theory.
